It seems like yesterday that I attended the mompreneaur event.

Thats where I first heard the story behind Darling & Bandit. Just like many other small shops, Darling & Bandit started with a thought, that quickly grew into a trendy fashion online store! Darling & Bandit provides us mamas with a great selection of witty but inspirational quotes, that are perfect for your little.

I soon found out that Trisha was a seasoned #boymom just like myself! AND When I also found out that Darling & Bandit t-shirt sizes went up to size 10, I knew I had to get in on that.

I reached out Trisha and asked if she would be interested in being featured on my site and she agreed! I’m honoured to wear Darling & Bandit around our City. The fabric and monochromatic scheme go perfectly with our brand.

The thought of knowing that I’m supporting another local mama excites me and if you want to support her shop as well, you can use code “FALL15” for 15 % off your next order. Read on to get to know the mama behind the shop !

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am married to my high school sweetheart. Together we have 3 boys ( a solid man clan;) Chase is my oldest (7), Cyrus (5) and Cru (11 months). I am obsessed with cozy sweaters and boots. As soon as fall hits I’m giddy to go shopping. 😉 I love coffee! My husband and I love exploring cute coffee shops and drinking traditional cappuccinos. I’m a total night owl and love working on darling + bandit when my house is quiet and everyone is asleep.

What sparked the idea of starting Darling & Bandit?
I worked in Women’s fashion for 10 years before I started having children. I missed the industry. Plus as my boys got older the harder it became to find trendy items that were great quality.

Is there a meaning behind your shop name?

No, I wish there was. I just wanted something feminine and sweet with a mixture of Edgy & ”manly”

Is there a specific Item that you love the most or means the most to you?

The “I will shine bright” t-shirt means a lot to me. I designed it while my Aunt was battling cancer and a good friends Mom had just been diagnosed with cancer. I thought about how difficult it is for us as adults to journey through the disease. For kids their whole world is rocked and I wanted to remind them to keep shining in those dark moments.

For me the greatest treasure has been listening to customer stories about why they bought the shirt. Usually they have tears in their eyes as they share with me why this shirt means so much to them. 5. If you could give one piece of advice on how to start a business, what would it be? Connect with other people that are on the same journey. They know what you are dealing with and can encourage you along the way.

Who inspires you?

I have always been inspired by Monika Hibbs! I love how pretty and feminine her style is. I also have a major Mom crush on Alison Faulkner from The Alison Show. She makes me laugh every day! Not to mention she’s running a fantastic business and throws the best dance parties.

What’s next for Darling & Bandit in 2016 or 2017?

We are working on our Fall/Winter collection and are excited to be adding sweatshirts. I’m also hosting a Christmas market in November. It has been fun working on Christmas in June. That’s my favorite time of year…so I’ll take any excuse to start thinking about it.
