I shared about the Fujifilm X-T100 quickly over on my Instagram but now its time to dive in a little bit deeper. As you all know, taking photos is part of my weekly life as a blogger. I’ve never been in front of a camera as much as I am now and I’m living for it.

With that in mind, I want to grow and advance my photography skills in any way that I can. Not only to use for personal reasons but to gain more knowledge about how photography works.

I’ve had a few weeks to play around with the Fujifilm X-T100 and it’s now my new go-to camera. I’ve taken it on our adventures playing tourists in our city. Driving further each time we decide to explore.

This time we made it out to Vedder River in Chilliwack, BC.

All About the Fujifilm X-T100

While your phone might be good for a quick snap, the Fujifilm X-T100 allows you to capture 24-megapixel images. This means a better resolution for your photo which is measured in megapixels. The more pixels your camera has, the more detail it will capture. Making any larger photo that you capture clear with no blur or grain!

I love developing the photos that are taken of us professionally to decorate my home. Which is why I love the Fujifilm X-T100! The quality of the photos is just as great plus I have the convenience of looking at all the bloopers we take haha!

The camera itself is retro styled, not too heavy or bulky; it fits perfectly in my hand.

It comes with the classic Fujifilm settings so that you can easily play with colour, contrast, saturation, etc. Basically, a whole bunch of presets in JPEG mode so that you don’t feel intimidated or overwhelmed.

It’s well known for several years now that Fujifilm has the best JPEG engine in the business. Often replicated but never duplicated! The sheer simplicity of treating the camera as film is fun and freeing.

Fujifilm is great for those who want consistency in their photos, are looking for that classic “film” look and who don’t want to play around with the natural colouring of the real photo.

Once you start feeling comfortable you can easily switch up the settings RAW.

Here are the photos I took using the Fujifilm X-T100, edited in Lightroom using the LXC presets 🙂

As you can see, the quality was not altered when I converted the images from RAF to JPEG! I always use the LXC presets because it matches the colours and style I’m going for!

I included the bloopers as well because I thought they were cute and want to remember how the kids were that day. They really loved exploring Vedder River. Taking off their shoes and wading around while I snapped photos of them.

It was super cute seeing the boys react to themselves on the touchscreen which prompted them to make silly faces. Another great feature is that the camera has face detection that automatically turns on when in selfie mode. A huge help when the boys don’t want to stay still haha! Oh motherhood.

Documenting their childhood is extremely important to me. I don’t have any pictures of myself when I was younger. So having a camera like the Fujifilm X-T100 to bring along during our adventures is great because all of us can enjoy a little something.

Overall

With so many great features and the retro look of the Fujifilm X-T100 it’s no wonder why it’s becoming a must-have camera.

To be totally honest, the feature I love the most is the rotating swivel touchscreen. Great for taking selfies and group shots. Most cameras with a touchscreen viewfinder don’t have the swivel, so I really appreciate that feature!

Not only can the X-T100 produce breath-taking stills, but it’s great for video! With 4K recording and the option to capture footage in full HD. I see more youtube videos in my future.

As a beginner in taking photos, I really appreciate It is extremely user-friendly, you don’t have to be a professional photographer to figure this camera out. I actually watched a few video reviews first to get comfortable with it.

Are you pumped about it yet?!

If so, Fujifilm currently has a chance for you to win one for yourself!! All all the details over on their microsite: Fujifim-xt100.com
